Mike Matas Launching Multimedia Digital Book Start-Up Push Pop Press

Mike Matas, a designer that joined Apple at the age of 19, is known for creating the media management software called Delicious Library. Matas is now working on a new project called Push Pop Press. Push Pop Press’ first digital book is coming to the iPad and iPhone later this year.

Push Pop Press is encouraging users to “explore photos, videos, music, maps, and interactive graphics, all through a new physics-based multi-touch user interface.” Matas left Apple in 2009 after working there for four years. He had designed photo and mapping products at the company. Matas is working with Kimon Tsinteris and Austin Sarner on Push Pop Press. Kimon was a former senior engineer on the Apple iPhone team and Sarner is an independent Mac developer that created the AppZapper and Disco software.
