Sony Threatening To Sue Anyone Who Posts Jailbreak Code For PS3

Sony Corporation is threatening to sue anybody that posts the jailbreak code of the PlayStation 3 gaming console. Sony is demanding that a federal judge orders Google to surrender the IP addresses of those who viewed or commented about the jailbreak on a private YouTube video. Sony also wants Twitter to provide the identities of the a host of hackers that announced a limited version of the hack in December. Sony filed a lawsuit against 21 year old New Jersey hacker George Hotz. Hotz published the PlayStation 3 code and a how-to video last month. “The discovery they call for in my opinion is overbroad,” stated Hotz’s attorney Stewart Kellar. [Wired]
