Twitter Hits 4,064 Tweets Per Second During Super Bowl

About 162.9 million people watched the Super Bowl this year and Twitter hit a record number of tweets per second (4,064). This is the highest tweets-per-second (TPS) that Twitter has hit. The previous record was 3,283 TPS when Japan hit the new year. Tweets during the game really exploded when Usher appeared alongside the Black Eyed Peas during the halftime show. [Twitter Blog]
