Detroit Mayor Bing: “No Plans To Erect A Statue Of RoboCop”

Detroit, Michigan Mayor Dave Bing wrote on Twitter “There are not any plans to erect a statue of RoboCop.” He also wrote “Thank you for your suggestion.” A debate about the statue idea spread across the Internet ever since. Some people believe that it would spur tourism and positive attention for the city. There is also now a Facebook page called “Build a statue of Robocop in Detroit.” The sci-fi movie RoboCop depicted the city of Detroit as a crime wasteland. [Detroit Free Press]
