Amazon Appstore Opens With 3,800 Apps Available For Android

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has officially launched their Appstore. The Appstore will host applications available for downloading on to Google Android devices. You can visit the Amazon Appstore at amazon.com/appstore. Android device owners can download the Amazon Appstore interface on to their handset.

The Amazon Appstore launches with an initial catalog of 3,800 apps. “The developer response has been really strong,” stated Amazon Mobile Services category leader Aaron Rubenson. “We’ll be launching with a broad range of paid and free and the customers will find lots of best selling titles from Doodle Jump to Call of Duty to Zagat and Tweetcaster. The list goes on and it’s just day one. We are adding more every single day.”
