Foursquare has launched a new service called Explore. Explore recommends new places to you based on the history of places you check into and the history of “people like you.” Explore started off as a small project from one engineer and the Foursquare blog explains how it all got started. They took the project and built it into a separate web application for engineers to work on. The app required to pull in thousands of check-ins at a time and map the relations. [Foursquare Blog]
