According to supplier data collected by DigiTimes, shipments of the Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (NYSE:MMI) Xoom tablet will hit roughly 3-5 million in 2011. In the first quarter of 2011, Motorola will have shipped roughly 700,000-800,000 tablets.

Motorola has already placed orders for 200,000 units in the first half of March. For the entire month, they should reach 400,000-500,000 units. Shipments hit 200,000 in February. In April and May, Motorola expects to order less than 300,000 units. It is believed that in the second half, Motorola will assess how well their tablet PCs are doing and they may launch a new model based on that. Motorola’s suppliers believe that the company will ship about 3-5 million units in 2011.
