James Gosling is known for founding Java while working at Sun Microsystems. After Oracle bought out Sun, Gosling decided not to quit. It turns out that Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has hired Gosling for an undecided position.

Google is currently facing a lawsuit with Oracle about how Java is being used in the Android mobile operating system. Oracle is suing Google for patent and copyright infringement about how Android uses Dalvik, software that is very similar to Java.

“I don’t know what I’ll be working on. I expect it’ll be a bit of everything, seasoned with a large dose of grumpy curmudgeon,” stated Gosling on his blog. Gosling turned down a lot of opportunities during that one year he was not working until he was given an offer he could not refuse at Google.
