Professional social network LinkedIn has surpassed 100 million users. This is excellent news for the company as they have filed for an S-1 with the SEC for the intention of having an initial public offering.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been focused on why people are returning the iPad 2 to make sure that there was no production defects. In one instance, one of the reasons for a return is the customer’s wife. Below is a story from MacRumors.com:

[Apple's] focus this week has been to troubleshoot all the iPad 2s that customers are returning to the stores. One iPad came back with a post it note on it that said “Wife said no.” It was escalated as something funny, and two of the VPs got wind of it. They sent the guy an iPad 2 with a note on it that said “Apple said yes.”

Talk about one lucky husband.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has officially launched their Appstore. The Appstore will host applications available for downloading on to Google Android devices. You can visit the Amazon Appstore at amazon.com/appstore. Android device owners can download the Amazon Appstore interface on to their handset.

Nokia has announced today that they are introducing the Astound phone in the United States. The Astound is a lower end smartphone that runs on the Symbian operating system. The device has a 620 megahertz processor and 300 megabytes of memory.

CrowdFlower is a company that designed data categorization tools used by e-commerce companies that has raised $7 million in funding led by Harmony Partners. Trinity Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners participated in this round. CrowdFlower has raised a total of $12 million thus far.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDQ:MSFT) has started planning for a new Xbox line of devices launching in 2015. This is 10 years after the Xbox 360 was released. As a matter of fact, ZDNet noticed a portfolio image of a new concept Xbox (above) in the portfolio of designer Ben Patterson. There was a note that said “collaboration with Microsoft’s IEB Design group investigating future user experiences and hardware for 2015.” This past February, Microsoft also started posting jobs to work on the next Xbox. There are a couple of job openings on the Xbox Console Architecture Team and the Xbox Incubation Team. [BusinessInsider]

Condé Nast acquired Reddit five years ago and now they are considering spinning them off again. Condé Nast would continue to own the website but they are talking to investors about selling a stake in the company with a $200 million valuation. Reddit saw tremendous growth after Digg released a new, less favorable version of their website. Reddit recently saw one billion page views in one month. “We love our Reddit asset, and it’s a core asset for us, and it’s getting more valuable every day,” stated Advance Publications digital operations head Steve Newhouse. Coinstar, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSTR) has announced that they will be investing in SoloHealth. SoloHealth is a healthcare technology company that deploys kiosks. The kiosks monitors weight management, blood pressure, body mass index, and vision screening. The investment details are unknown. “As a leader in automated retail, Coinstar is continually looking for kiosk concepts that are innovative and compelling,” stated Coinstar president and COO Gregg Kaplan. “We believe that SoloHealth will address the changing market dynamics in the healthcare space by bringing free health and wellness screening to individuals who may not have accessed it otherwise.”
