Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has released a Google TV remote application on iOS. Now you can control Google TV with your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Michigan police have arrested Richard Leon Barton Jr., 34, for polygamy. Police used wedding photos on Facebook as evidence for the polygamy charges. The man had unfriended his first wife on Facebook before marrying his second wife, but what he did was still illegal.
Footbo is an interactive sports company that has raised $2.5 million from Pitango. Pitango invested a total of $4.5 million in Footbo. Footbo has recently launched a new website called 11Runs, which is a fantasy baseball website. 11Runs runs quick weekly competitions and offers cash prizes. Around then, Google’s investors said that their company needed some adult supervision through with an experienced CEO. John Doerr arranged interviews between Page and Brin with Andy Grove (Intel) and Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com). “…they would only consider one person: Steve Jobs,” wrote Wired senior writer Steven Levy. The venture capital subsidiary of Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), Google Ventures has invested in biofuel company CoolPlanetBiofuels. CoolPlanetBiofuels has developed technology to produce fuel from biomass such as grass and wood chips. The process that CoolPlanetBiofuels uses produces a byproduct where carbon is captured and crop yields are improved. “While we have made significant progress over the past couple of years, this new infusion of capital, coupled with the expertise of the Google Ventures team, enables our team to scale even faster,” stated CoolPlanet CEO Mike Cheiky.
