During a press conference, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) discussed the acquisition of T-Mobile USA. AT&T has an interest in increasing their 700MHz Long Term Evolution (LTE) spectrum with T-Mobile’s 1700 MHz advanced wireless service (AWS). This would help AT&T deploy the company’s LTE to 95% of the population in America. T-Mobile uses the AWS spectrum for their 3G services. Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has announced the availability of the Nexus S 4G phone on their network. The Nexus S 4G is part of the Nexus line of products. Google worked closely with Samsung to to build the phone. The Nexus S 4G has a 4″ Contour Display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, front and rear facing cameras, 16GB of internal memory, and NFC (near field communication) hardware. Sprint also announced that Sprint customers will soon be able to use Google Voice without charging or porting their number. The Nexus S 4G can be purchased this sprint online or in stores. Facebook Acquires Snaptu For Double Digit Millions

Facebook has acquired Snaptu, a company that was founded in 2007. Snaptu provides services to the 95% of mobile users that do not have a smartphone. Snaptu created a Facebook application earlier this year called Facebook for Feature Phones. It works on 2,500 devices.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has been sending out e-mails that says “records show that you use [tethering] but are not subscribed to our tethering plan.” There are several jailbreaking applications that allows the iPhone to use unauthorized tethering such as MyWi. MyWi bypasses the plan check on AT&T phones and creates a wireless hotspot on teh iPhone. This allows other devices to connect to the Internet through the iPhone like netbooks and laptops.

Social gaming company Zynga has acquired Floodgate Entertainment, an indie gaming company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. This is Zynga’s 10th acquisition in 10 months.
