Apple Inc. (NASDASQ:AAPL) has announced today that Bertrand Serlet is stepping down. Serlet is the SVP of Mac Software Engineering. Craig Federighi, Apple’s VP of Software Engineering, will handle Serlet’s responsibilities and report directly to Steve Jobs.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) subsidiary McAfee has announced that they are acquiring database security company Sentrigo. Sentrigo had previously raised $9.5 million in VC funding from Benchmark Capital, Stata Venture Partners and Juniper Networks. Sentrigo sells host-based software that can protect enterprise databases by monitoring activity in real-time and providing alerts. McAfee had partnered with Sentrigo in 2010 as part of an OEM agreement to support McAfee’s own database security software. Intel acquired McAfee for $7.68 billion in August 2010. [TechCrunch]

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has made the first full Windows Phone 7 update available for download. The “NoDo” update on devices was made available yesterday with copy and paste, WiFi improvements, Outlook improvements, messaging improvements, Facebook/camera/audio improvements, faster start/resume times for apps, improved category search in Marketplace, and performance tune ups. Microsoft is distributing the update to phones worldwide slowly. When the patch update was originally released, it was rejected by Orange, O2, and AT&T. The newest version of Google Chrome has support for the HTML5 speech input API. Through this API, developers can create web applications that converts your voice into text. If a web application supports the API, they generally have an icon you click on and it asks you to speak into the microphone. Showtime To Start Pulling Original Content Off Of Netflix

By the middle of this year, Showtime will start pulling the early seasons of their original programming such as Dexter and Californication off of Netflix. Showtime has already stopped Netflix from streaming the later seasons of Dexter and Nurse Jackie. Showtime essentially wants you to start subscribing to them or buy the DVDs from them directly.
