Social networking company Facebook removed a picture of a gay couple kissing. Talk show host Richard Metzger had posted a story to Facebook about a “kiss in” that took place at a pub in England. Facebook removed the story because the picture associated with the story had a gay couple kissing. Facebook sent an e-mail to Metzger saying that the picture was in violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.

After there was a big protest on the Internet about Facebook’s action, the social network company apologized. “The photo in question does not violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience,” said Facebook today.
