Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is launching a new service called Earth Builder. Earth Builder will enable companies to embed data layers on top of Google Earth and Google Maps. Google believes that this will help companies in the oil and gas sector. The data-filled maps can be distributed internally or publicly. Earth Builder will be able to over 100 countries in the third quarter of this year. It will be priced competitively with other geospatial companies. [Google Earth Builder via ZDNet]
