New Kids On The Block band member and younger brother of Mark Wahlberg, Donnie Wahlberg, has helped a fan get a new kidney through the power of Twitter. Bobbette Miller was being treated at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center when her friend sent a tweet to Donnie Wahlberg.

Wahlberg retweeted a link about the Bobbette, who had a kidney that was failing very quickly. After Wahlberg retweeted the link to his followers, a lot of phone calls were being made to Vanderbilt yielding a match. Bobbette is now scheduled to have a transplant in June.

This isn’t the first time that social media helped someone receive a kidney match. A Michigan man named Jeff Kurze found a donor through Facebook when his wife posted a message asking for help.
