To prepare for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the military police in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are testing out criminal-detecting glasses. The glasses have cameras that are capable of detecting faces in crowds. The camera can analyze 46,000 biometric points at up to 400 faces per second. The camera then scans through a database of 13 million wanted people to see if there are any matches. The glasses can zoom in from 12 miles away, but will be typically used for managing crowds at within 50 meters. These glasses seem to be inspired by crime-fighting robot superhero RoboCop. [Engadget]
