Viddy is a mobile video sharing start-up company that has raised $1.6 million in a first round of funding. Viddy had launched a mobile video creation and sharing application for the iPhone. This round of funding was provided by Battery Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, Qualcomm, Jarl Mohn, and early YouTube employees. Milk is essentially a company where several developers brainstorm technology and mobile ideas and works away at building them. If there isn’t any sudden traction, then the project gets shut down. Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) has made an official announcement about the status of the PlayStation Network being down. A hacker penetrated the system and the personal information of users have been exploited. Sony revealed that between April 17 and April 19, there was an unauthorized intrusion on the PlayStation Network. As a result, Sony temporarily turned off the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. They are also working with a security firm to conduct a full investigation into what happened. They also started to enhance security to their network infrastructure by rebuilding their whole system.

PixelFish, a local video marketing solutions company, has acquired Backyard. Backyard is a local business guide that is available on the web and on mobile devices. PixelFish has no plans of shutting down Backyard as a result of the acquisition.
