Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has dropped their attempt to get a trademark on the word “Pod.” Now competitors can feel free to use that word in their names and brands. They filed a trademark for the word on July 29, 2004 with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has recently reported their first quarter 2011 financial information. They posted $9.86 billion in revenues for the first quarter, which puts them up 38% during the same quarter last year. But Amazon.com’s net income has decreased 33% to $201 million for the first quarter. During the same quarter last year, Amazon.com reported a net income of $299 million.
Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) executive chairman Eric Schmidt has interviewed actress, producer, and writer Tina Fey as part of the Authors @ Google series of events. Schmidt talked to Tina Fey about her new book “Bossypants.” The interview runs for close to an hour, but it is very entertaining… I recommend watching it.
The Verizon DROID Incredible 2 by HTC is going for sale on April 28. It has Android 2.2 built in and the cost is at $199.99 with a new two year agreement. The DROID Incredible 2 has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front. The screen is a 4-inch WVGA display and the processor is a Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon. Verizon has announced a new Android rugged smartphone called the Casio G’zOne Commando. It meets the military standards 810G for immersion, shock, rain, dust-resistant, vibration, salt fog, solar radiation, altitude, low/high temperatures, and humidity.
