Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) is preparing to launch a couple of new Android tablets this fall with the code-names S1 and S2. The S1 will have a focus on rich media entertainment and the S2 will have a focus on communications. Both of these tablets will be available this fall.

Friendster was the social network that everyone was talking about before Facebook was around. Friendster raised $50 million in venture capital and gained tens of millions of users. Eventually Malaysian payments company MOL Global acquired Friendster in 2009 for $40 million. Now Friendster is removing all photos, blog posts, comments, testimonials, shout-outs, etc. from the social network. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) just saw their chief operating officer John Schappert get hired away by social gaming Zynga. Zynga’s rivalry is intensifying as their internal valuation surpassed EA’s around October 2010. Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) will start selling the Nexus S 4G powered by Android 2.3 on May 8th for $200. However you will have to sign up for a 2 year contract for the $200 price. TweetDeck has totally revamped their iPhone application. Some of the new features include retina display, multi-tasking support, and new column features. The pinch gesture on the TweetDeck application now gives you an option to add any combination of your feeds into a column. As Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is getting bashed in the media for storing the location history on 3G devices, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has come out and said that Windows Phone 7 does not store the location information of their users. Windows Phone 7 does have some location-based applications, but they require consent from users before tracking anything. Microsoft also said that their “Find My Phone” service only stores the phone’s most recent location. [PCMag]

Game of Thrones has some passionate fans, especially Michael Podniestrzanski and his cousin Joshua Ross. The two “got into a verbal altercation” about HBO show. After they debated which characters was going to win a battle, the two physically assaulted each other. Podniestrzanski ended up throwing Ross through the front window. Podniestrzanski was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and was held in county jail. [TV Squad]

GGC Software Holdings will be acquiring Lawson Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:LWSN) for $2 billion. The two companies have announced that Lawson has accepted the acquisition bid today. The acquisition is expected to be closed in the third quarter and the combined company will create one of the largest ERP companies. GGC Software Holdings is connected to Infor and private equity firm Golden Gate Capital. “Lawson is a natural strategic partner for Infor, offering complementary software solutions that will extend our existing portfolio, particularly in areas such as health care, public sector, manufacturing and human capital management,” said Info CEO Charles Phillips.
