Why Google Paid $500 Million To Justice Department

Earlier this week, Google revealed in a quarterly earnings report that they were given a $500 million charge that relates to a pending legal settlement with the Department of Justice. The report did not reveal what the charge was for, but now we know. The Wall Street Journal reveals that Google was charged for accepting “hundreds of millions” of dollars in ad revenue from online pharmacy companies that broke U.S. laws. Some of these pharmacies are based outside of the U.S.
