As LinkedIn went public this past week on the New York Stock Exchange, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg was at the Reuters Global Technology Summit. She briefly talked about the possibility of Facebook having an IPO. Sandberg said that a public offering of Facebook shares is “inevitable.”

“It’s a process that all companies go through. It’s an inevitable process for us, the next thing that happens…People used to ask us if we were going to get sold. People have stopped asking that question — we’re not … No one is buying us, we’re going public,” said Sandberg.

Facebook is rumored to be talking with bankers about the IPO size and time frame. Facebook was rumored be going public by April 2012.
