Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rumored to be acquiring between 200 and 300 glass-cutting machines. Apple is expected to use these machines to slice the curved display covers for the iPhone 5. The acquisition of the glass-cutting machines is believed to accelerate the production of the iPhone. Suppliers are reluctant to buy the glass-cutting machines themselves because of the prohibitive cost. [DigiTimes]
