As LinkedIn went public this past week on the New York Stock Exchange, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg was at the Reuters Global Technology Summit. She briefly talked about the possibility of Facebook having an IPO. Sandberg said that a public offering of Facebook shares is “inevitable.”

Revision3 is a San Francisco based company that has many web video programs. According to CEO Jim Louderback, Revision3 receives about 17 million monthly unique viewers and 70 million million monthly video views. Brighter.com has pre-negotiated prices on all major dental procedures at over 25,000 dentists across the nation. Brighter.com collects patient reviews from members and Yelp. Twitter CTO Greg Pass has left the company. Pass was the VP of Engineering at Twitter and was the co-founder of Summize. Summize is a Twitter search engine that was acquired by the micro-blogging company in July 2008. Summize is now the basis of Twitter Search.

Earlier this week there was an explosion at the Foxconn factory in Chengdu, China at building A05. At least two people died and 16 people were injured after the explosion. That is the same building where the iPad 2 is made.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced a solid deal for students. If a student buys a Windows 7 PC for $699 or more over the summer, they will also get a free 4GB Xbox 360 S. This offer will be running from May 22nd through September 3rd. The deal can be redeemed through online retailers like Dell.com and HP.com along with Best Buy and Microsoft Store locations.

The Federal Communications Commission released a new report yesterday that has data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development that states that the U.S. is ranked 9th out of 29 countries for mobile broadband adoption on a per capita basis. The U.S. is ranked 12th out of 33 countries for percentage of households that have fixed broadband. The U.K., South Korea, and Iceland are some of the countries that have the U.S. beat.
