UberMedia has raised $5.6 million in a new round of funding. UberMedia is best known for developing applications such as Echofon, Ubersocial, Echofon, and Twidroyd. This round of funding was provided by German Internet investment company Burda Digital.

UberMedia is also known for getting into a couple of conflicts with Twitter itself. Twitter had temporarily blocked some of UberMedia’s applications temporarily claiming a violation of their terms of service. Twitter and UberMedia also got into a bidding war over TweetDeck.

UberMedia has about 5 million users that tweet over 200 times per second. This is about 13% of Twitter’s total traffic.
