Mark Zuckerberg Declares Under Oath That He Did Not Sign A Contract With Ceglia

Facebook recently filed for an expedited discovery in lawsuit with Paul Ceglia. Paul Ceglia claims to be entitled to a significant amount of equity in Facebook. He claims to have signed a contract with Mark Zuckerberg back in 2003. When the news about this broke, people laughed until it was revealed that law firm DLA Piper was backing him up.

Some e-mail exchanges between Zuckerberg and Ceglia had surfaced. Facebook’s earlier statements sounded slightly uncertain about whether Ceglia’s e-mails were fake or not. But Facebook’s last document was harsh against Ceglia’s character and was indicated that Ceglia’s evidence is completely fake.

Facebook is asking the court to grant expedited, target discovery that would require Ceglia to produce the original contract between Zuckerberg and himself. Facebook is also demanding access to all of Ceglia’s computers. Facebook believes that using this evidence will help them prove that Ceglia’s evidence is fake.

facebook hired private investigation firm Kroll Associates to dig up Ceglia’s past. Kroll found that Ceglia was involved in multiple incidents of scamming land in New York and Florida. He was also accused of a wood pellet scam.

“The fact that Ceglia has spent the past seven years a a hustler engaged in various land swindles and wood-pellet scams further highlights the fraudulent nature of his claims in this case. If Ceglia were in fact the owner of a substantial stake in Facebook, why would he have resorted to a life of crime?” said Facebook in a statement.

Upon investigating page 1 and page 2 of the document that Ceglia claims is a contract between him and Zuckerberg, it was revealed that there was inconsistencies in the margines, type face, and spacing. It almost appears that page 1 and page 2 were printed at different times.

Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg even declared under oath that he did not sign a contract granting Ceglia ownership of the company. Sounds like Ceglia might have less of a case now.
