Today a new press release from Apple announced Final Cut Pro X, a new version of their video editing software. The key feature of this new release is the Magnetic Timeline, an intuitive trackless editing system that slides clips to the side and allow the user to drop in new clips wherever desired. The other new feature is Content Auto-Analysis, which uses tags to help sort and search footage based on type of shot, type of media and number of people in the frame.
Final Cut Pro X is available in the Mac App Store for $299.99.

Apple has filed to acquire trademarks for Airdrop and Photo Stream. Airdrop is a program that allows wireless file-sharing without a Wi-Fi network, and will be released as a feature of Lion. The service has been a secret while in the works for the past year and a half, but today Decide revealed their new electronics shopping service. Currently Decide only advises on TVs, laptops and cameras, but TechCrunch reports that more electronics will be added to the site later this year.

Gigaom reports that the feature will likely include a Music tab where users now find Photos and Friends, which will lead to a Music Dashboard. Facebook’s music playback, run through companies like Spotify with Facebook Connect, will follow the user through their browsing just like the Facebook Chat function does.
