Swype Raises More Funding and Goes for More of the Market

Swype, provider of a magical touchscreen keyboard, is poised on the edge of a possible market domination and has collected a new $2.5 million from investors. Swype is on about half of Android phones currently shipping, and AllThingsD reports that CEO Mike McSherry said, “I think you will continue to see us getting deployed and moving toward our goal of being the default keyboard on any screen.”

Skype is working with some Windows 7 tablets, and the company hopes to be involved in Windows Phones in the future. They have no updates on an official Swype for iOS release yet.
