Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is offering a credit card for advertising customers that would have a large credit line, no annual fee, and competitive interest rates. However the credit card would only be able to used for buying search advertising through the Google search engine. The AdWords Business credit card would be Google’s first attempt at vendor financing.

Google VP of global online sales Claire Johnson said that the credit card was designed for SMBs to advertise on Google who do not have the funds for heavy ad campaigns. “They are resource-constrained and they are often cash flow-strapped. Many of them are trying to grow a business without the kind of means that, say, your classic company has,” said Johnson. Google will be e-mailing invitations as part of a beta test for the credit cards. The AdWords credit card is a MasterCard that would be issued through the World Financial Capital Bank.
