Inrix Has Raised $37 Million In Series D Funding

Inrix is a real-time car traffic data service that has raised $37 million in Series D funding. This round of funding was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers’ Green Growth Fund and August Capital. Now Inrix has $70 million in total funding at a valuation that is slightly under $500 million.

Inrix crowd-sources real-time traffic data from over 10 million sources (cars, cabs, trucks, etc). This data is then sold to mobile application developers and websites. Inrix has data available across 22 countries across North America and Europe. Inrix’s partners include MapQuest, TeleNav, Toyota, Microsoft, Audi, and Ford. Inrix powers Ford’s SYNC traffic and navigation services and is integrated with the Audi A6 in Europe.

Inrix has iPhone and Android applications that have over 1.5 million downloads. Inrix also does white label traffic apps for Ford, Pioneer, and Navigon.
