Flowchart Software Company LucidChart Raises $1 Million In Seed Funding

LucidChart is a web based diagram application company that has raised $1 million in seed funding from 500 Startups, 2M Companies, K9 Ventures, and several angel investors. LucidChart plans on using the funding to create a desktop version of their application software.

LucidChart is utilizes features that are popular in Excel, Photoshop, and Google Apps to create the diagrams. The diagrams and website is builting using HTML5 and JavaScript. LucidCharts CEO Karl Sun said that he wants the product to be an example of what HTML5 is capable of.

LucidChart has real-time collaboration. Each user’s additions are reflected on their partner’s screens in real-time. There is a group chat feature to allow users to discuss the project in real-time. The free version of LucidCharts allows two collaborators, 25MB storage, and 60 objects per document. The professional version of LucidChart is $25 per month.
