To boost the sales of the Nintendo 3DS device, the gaming company dropped the price to $169.99 from $249.99. Aside from the United States, the price of the 3DS will see a similar percentage in price drop for their local currencies. Below are some of the details to pay attention to if you recently bought the 3DS at the higher price:

If you purchased the console recently, you will be able to receive 10 free NES virtual console games this coming September as long as you have logged into the eShop at least one prior to the cut in price.

You will also receive a similar amount of Game Boy Advance virtual console games before the end of the year. These are games that Nintendo does not planning on releasing to the general public.
