Samsung Sells 5 Million Galaxy S II Smartphones In 85 Days
Samsung Electronics has sold 5 million Galaxy S II smartphones in about 85 days. That makes the Samsung Galaxy S II the company’s fastest-selling handset in their history. Sales of the device have been accelerating as the Galaxy S II is becoming available on more carriers.
This past May, I reported that the Samsung Galaxy S II hit over 3 million pre-orders. Samsung is estimating 10 million sales within seven months of the phone’s retail debut this past May.
The Samsung Galaxy S II has features such as 4.3-inch screen solution, 800×480 pixel resolution, Super AMOLED Plus technology, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and 1080p video recording, and near-field communication (NFC) chip supported on some of the models. The Samsung Galaxy S II uses the TouchWiz interface and the smartphone has the ability to buy movies, music, and e-books through Samsung’s media hub.
