Adobe Product Users May Wish to Avoid OS X Lion

Since Apple released OS X Lion to the general public yesterday, it’s already gotten more than 7,000 five-star ratings in the App Store. In contrast to this positive response, Adobe has released a list of issues with Adobe products on machines running Lion. One such issue is that Apple may have disabled Flash hardware acceleration. In some cases Adobe offers suggestions of how to change Lion settings to better work with Adobe devotees’ expectations of product performance, but in other cases Adobe simply recommends that users do not update to OS X Lion. Many of the issues are small but obnoxiously annoying for anyone who uses the affected feature frequently, such as droplets not working in Photoshop CS3-CS5.

ZestCash Raises $19 Million to Provide Short-Term Loans

Loan service ZestCash has raised $19 million in funding to expand its short-term loans and debt financing. The funding comes from Lightspeed Venture Partners, GRP Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners and Lighthouse Capital Partners. GigaOM reports that Lighthouse’s contribution of $8 million is specifically for debt financing. ZestCash’s loans are data-driven; they offer loans to those whose online data says they’re credit worthy.

Vostu Files Countersuit Against Zynga

Brazilian social gaming company Vostu has filed a countersuit against Zynga. Zynga’s initial suit claimed that Vostu copied game designs from Zynga, and Vostu’s new suit says other gaming companies have layouts similar to Zynga’s as well—and some of them came out with their games prior to Zynga’s versions. The New York Times explains how the new suit claims that Zynga can’t claim copyright on everyday items in their games, such as barns or farms.

Google Acquires Frid.ge for Google+ Circles

Google has acquired group social site Frid.ge with the intent to integrate the site’s tools into Google+ circles. Frid.ge is shutting down and moving both team and product entirely to Google. Zillow Stock Price Increases 79% In First Day

Real estate search engine Zillow.com went public on the stock market yesterday and their stock price increased 79% in the first day. Zillow trades on the Nasdaq stock market under the symbol “Z.” The stock price climbed 79% to $35.77 as of 4PM EST yesterday. Zillow raised $69.2 million after selling 3.46 million shares at $20 per share. Zillow lets home buyers and sellers list and search for properties. For the quarter ended March 31st, Zillow’s revenue grew more than double to $11.3 million. Based on the IPO price, Zillow’s market cap was roughly $540 million. [SF Gate]

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has made it easier for mobile application developers to integrate Windows Live into iOS, Android, and Windows Phone easier through the release of the developer platform Messenger Connect. Messenger Connect has APIs for SkyDrive, Hotmail, and Windows Live Messenger. These APIs can be used on websites and on mobile apps.
