Intel Reports $13.1 Billion In Q2 Revenue

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has reported their Q2 revenues and earnings. Revenue for the three months that ended in June increased 22% year over year. Revenue was $13.1 billion. For the third quarter, Intel predicts that their revenue will be between $13.5-$14.5 billion.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are considering buying InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC). InterDigital is a mobile-phone technology designer company that has about 1,300 patents in their portfolio. InterDigital has hired bankers to consider a sale. Evercore Partners Inc. and Barclays Capital are working with InterDigital to “explore and evaluate potential strategic alternatives,” said the company. [Bloomberg]

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is offering a credit card for advertising customers that would have a large credit line, no annual fee, and competitive interest rates. However the credit card would only be able to used for buying search advertising through the Google search engine. The AdWords Business credit card would be Google’s first attempt at vendor financing.

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S II smartphone in the U.S. next month according to Samsung’s president of mobile business and digital imageing Shin Jong-kyun. “We expect to release the Galaxy S2 in the U.S. market sometime in August,” stated Jong-kyun during a media briefing. Samsung launched the Galaxy S II in South Korea this past April. Then it was released in Japan and Europe shortly after. The Galaxy S II sold about 3 million units in under 2 months of the debut. Google is shutting down Google Labs so that they can prioritize their product efforts. Google currently has about 56 ideas in Google Labs as of right now. Some of them include Google Body, Google Correlate, Google Scribe, Page Speed Online, Google Transliteration, Google Reader Play, App Inventor for Android, Google Share Spaces, and Fast Flip.
