Airband is a wireless voice and data services company that has raised $20 million in funding from ABRY Partners, a Boston based venture capital company. Airband offers Internet access, VoIP services, and security. They plan on using the funding to expand coverage and capacity in existing markets. They also plan to explore mergers and acquisitions with the new round of funding. Last year, Airband and Sparkplug merged with each other to create one of the largest fixed-wireless companies in the United States serving 17 different markets.
