Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced the “We’re In” application for Windows Phone. The We’re In application is intended to organize get togethers and carpools. Your friends will be able to see your location and they can see yours. This appears to be Microsoft’s response to Google Latitude.

To sign up, you just need to input your phone number and then you can invite your friends via your contacts to starting sharing your location. Your friends will receive a text message. You can update your status message to let your friends know what is going on. To see the latest status message of your friend, tap on their user tile on the map. To stop sharing your location, click on “leave” on the People tab.
