According to Asian suppliers, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has started manufacturing a lower priced version of the iPhone 4 with an 8GB hard drive. The flash drive for the 8GB iPhone 4 is believed to be built by a Korean company. Apple currently sources their flash drives to Toshiba in Japan and Samsung Electronics in South Korea.

The current iPhone 4 was launched in June 2010 with 16GB and 32GB versions. A white version of the iPhone 4 was added this past April. The next generation iPhone is expected to be available for pre-order at the end of September. Apple sold 20.34 million iPhones in the second quarter.
