GM and LG Electronics Partner To Enhance Electric Cars

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has teamed up with LG Electronics to develop electric cars that have capabilities that are greater than the Chevy Volt. LG subsidiary LG Chem supplies the lithium ion batteries that powers the Chevy Volt and other GM electric prototype cars. LG will now provide key components that is related to the architecture and structure.
“Many solutions for tomorrow’s transportation needs may be available more quickly by building on our partnership strategy,” stated GM Vice Chairman Steve Girsky. “Consumers benefit by getting the latest fuel-saving technology faster if we work with the best suppliers and we save time and money in the development process.”
