According to AllThingsD, you will soon start seeing non-contextual ads on Twitter from accounts that you don’t follow. Before this system, you would see ads that are relevant to you based on who you are following. For example, if you follow the Netflix Twitter account, you would see ads from Netflix. The ads will appear if you are “like” the follower of a brand. So if you tweet about different kind of airlines or travel-related messages, then you will see airline ads. These new ads are expected to appear in a month.
