Hewlett-Packard has announced a new PC today called the HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Business Desktop. This announcement was made days after the company indicated that they will be spinning off their personal computer unit. The HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Business Desktop is dubbed the “first-all-in-one PC” and it is aimed towards corporate and public sector customers. The PC starts at $1,000. Specs include a 1920×1080 23-inch full HD monitor with a choice of Intel Pentium or vPro line of chips with up to 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM, HDD storage (250GB-1TB), six USB 2.0 ports, optional Blu-ray drive, and six-in-one media card reader. This past weekend, HTC had a fire sale. Prices of the TouchPad dropped from $399 to $99 for the 16GB version of the tablet and $499 to $149 for the 32GB version of the tablet. Due to the huge drop, the HP TouchPad device shot up to the top of Amazon.com’s most demanded product. The massive drop in price is due to HP’s announcement that they will be abandoning webOS-powered devices. The price of the tablets have dropped in the United Kingdom now too: £89 ($146) for the 16GB version and £115 ($189) for the 32GB version. [Engadget]

HTC is hosting an event on September 1st that focuses specifically on Windows Phone Mango devices. It is rumored that HTC will be revealing the HTC Eternity for AT&T and the HTC Omega for T-Mobile. The Google+ team has announced that the social network now has verification badges, to be used for public figures and celebrities, but also by power users who have been added to a large amount of circles. TechCrunch reports that the badges are rolling out to users right now. The badge is just a grey ? tag that expands on rollover to “? verified name” on users’ profiles.

Fox has been sticking to its eight-day delay guns for a week now, and the company’s future already looks grim. As anyone with half a brain predicted, when faced with an eight-day delay to popular programming, consumers respond by getting their tv illegally. TorrentFreak reports a 114% increase in downloads for Hell’s Kitchen and a 189% increase in downloads for MasterChef, which had its season finale this week. The episodes used to be available next-day on Hulu, but Fox is now only giving Hulu Plus and Dish Network the next-day privileges.
