Personal Capital is a company that has recently exited stealth mode and has raised $25 million in venture financing. The funding includes a Series A round that was led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) and a Series B round that was led by Venrock and more participate by IVP. Personal Capital is not planning to launch yet, but they will soon debut a financial advisor service that delivers an investment management and personal finance service. The chief executive of Personal Capital is former Intuit CEO Bill Harris. Everbank co-founder Rob Foregger serves as the chief strategy officer of Personal Capital. And former E-Loan CIO Jay Shah serves as the CIO of Personal Capital. The company is based in Redwood City, California.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS) reported that they are expecting a sales boost of $150-$200 million due to the dissolution of Borders book stores. Barnes & Noble expects a sales increase at stores that are open at least a year to increase 2-3% during their 2012 fiscal year, which starts May 1. Barnes & Noble acknowledged the competition they saw from Borders to find discounts due to the closing of 399 stores.

E La Carte is a company that has developed a tablet product for restaurants and other hospitality-related companies. E La Carte has raised $4 million in funding from Lightbank, the company that was made by Groupon co-founders Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell. E La Carte previously raised over $1 million from SV Angel, Dave McClure, Joshua Schachter, Roy Rodenstein, and Skip Sack.

Limelight Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:LLNW) has announced today that they have sold their EyeWonder ad division for $66 million in cash to DG Fast Channel. The deal is expected to close on September 1st. Limelight is also going to go through a $25 million stock repurchase. Limelight currently has a market cap of $282 million. The Windows Phone Marketplace application store has hit 30,000 applications in their directory. Since the beginning of July, the number of applications grew from 25,000 to 30,000. Some stats about Windows Phone Marketplace includes:

- 47 percent of apps are free
