Microsoft and Samsung Hands Out Windows Developer Preview PC At BUILD Conference

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced the Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC today. This PC is the first Windows 8 tablet. At the Microsoft BUILD 2011 conference in Anaheim, California, Windows President Steven Sinofsky demoed the device.

Microsoft handed out over 5,000 of these tablet PCs to developers at the conference. Samsung’s work with Microsoft is notable because they have successfully integrated the Android platform into tablets without any major issues.

The Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC powered by “Windows 8″ can be used as a tablet PC and a traditional PC. When it is being used as a tablet, it can be used with Microsoft’s signature Metro user interface.

Specs of the Preview PC includes an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, AT&T 3G connectivity, and 64GB solid state hard drive. The Preview PC also has 4GB DDR3 and 11.6″ diagonal screen.
