Millions of people are using Google Chrome as their default browser today. However many people do not realize that there is a plethora of useful applications built in the browser’s ecosystem. Below are some of my most favorite apps on the Google Chrome Web Store.

Angry Birds

The Angry Birds Chrome application is the browser version of the popular mobile game. In the browser version of Angry Birds, there are Chrome balls hidden in other levels.


The Clicker.TV Chrome application is an Internet TV guide. You can find full-length TV shows, movies, and web series shows available online using Clicker.TV. Clicker.TV has about 1,400 categories and you can set up notifications for new episodes.


The Crackle Chrome application lets you watch free movies on your computer. It has full-length movies and TV episodes that are free and on-demand. The Crackle app has movies like Snatch, Step Brothers, Big Daddy, Silent Hill, 8MM, and Ghostbusters 2. Some of the TV shows that the app has includes Seinfeld, Breaking Bad, Married With Children, and NewsRadio.


Flixster is a Google Chrome app that has features such as theater showtimes, high quality trailers, instant search, and critic reviews powered by Rotten Tomatoes and Flixster.


The Hipmunk Chrome app helps you find cheap flights. The Hipmunk Chrome app has a calendar view, time slider, multiple tabs, and hides “bad flights.”

HuffingtonPost NewsGlide

HuffingtonPost NewsGlide is a Google Chrome app that provides up-to-the-minute reports, blogs, and articles from all sections of the Huffington Post. The app makes it easy to scan through the latest headlines and flip through sections.

Marvel Comics

The Marvel Comics Chrome app allows users to buy Marvel Comics and read them on the Chrome browser. If you purchased comics through the Marvel Comics App for iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, you can access and read those comics on the Chrome app.


The Mixcloud Chrome app allows users to access Mixcloud’s catalog of Cloudcasts (DJ mixes, podcasts, and radio shows).


The Picnik photo editing Chrome application allows you to touch up and edit your photos. Picnik has creative fonts, shapes, and stickers that you can use as well. Picnik connects to your favorite photo sharing websites like Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, and Photobucket.


Pixlr-o-matic is a Chrome application that allows you to turn your photos into retro designs. You can apply filters, lightning, and borders using the Pixlr-o-matic app.


The Revision3 Chrome app has a “leanback” experience, which means that users can “lean back and watch” Revision3 programming on the devices certified for Google’s Chrome browser and OS. This includes laptops, tablets, and TVs.


SlideRocket is an online presentation software that helps you create presentations. The presentations are created with HTML5 so that it will work on the iPhone and iPad. There are presentation analytics built in and you can easily record audio on your slides. Videos from YouTube can be integrated into the presentations. SlideRocket allows you to sign in with your Google or Google Apps account. You can easily integrate your Google address book into the service.

Weather Window by WeatherBug is a Chrome app that allows you to view your weather and get the local current conditions. The Weather Window is a virtual window to the world outside for viewing rendered versions of current conditions for your location. The app also has location-enabled intelligence and Google Map Integration. The Weather Window app also has traffic and weather together powered by Google’s traffic map layer.


The Poppit Chrome application is a popular puzzle game where you pop groups of two or more same colored balloons to get a higher score and release captured prizes.
