Square, the mobile payments service company, has launched a store locator to help consumers find out where to buy the Square device from. The Square device is being sold at Apple, Best Buy, RadioShack, Target, and Wal-Mart retail stores.
The store locator feature has a map of all retail locations nationwide that have the Square card readers. There are about 9,000 retail locations nationwide.
Square’s payment services are processing about $2 billion in payments volume per year. Square has been activated by about 800,000 merchants thus far. And Square’s merchants are about 10% of the Visa/MasterCard reach.
