Google Updates Their Search Ranking Algorithm To Reflect More Recent Results

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has updated their search algorithm to help more recent information appear at the top of the search results. This change will cause about 35% of searches.

An example that Google provided about the changes is that if someone searches for the Olympics, then they would rather not find information about the Olympics from 1900 to appear. They would most likely want to know about the 2012 Olympics.

The new web indexing system is codenamed “Caffeine.” Caffeine allows the Google search engine to crawl and index the web for fresh content on an enormous scale.
