BlackBerry PlayBook Price Is Dropping To $199 For The Holidays

Research In Motion Limited (TSE:RIM) has dropped the price of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet for $199. The PlayBook tablet price started at $499 and then dropped it to $299 through a combination of credits and rebates. Yesterday RIM announced on Twitter that the price of the PlayBook has been dropped to $199 for a limited time.

RIM is selling the PlayBook for $199 at Best Buy, Staples, OfficeMax, Wireless Giant, Office Depot, Radio Shack, and Wal-Mart. NewEgg.com sold a batch of the PlayBooks for $199 this past weekend and they sold out.

The biggest problem that consumers currently have with the BlackBerry PlayBook is that it is not integrated with popular e-mail and messaging services.
