Expedia, Inc. (NASDAQ:EXPE) has acquired eLong, Inc. from Renren Inc. (NYSE:RENN). Expedia bought eLong for approximately $72.4 million ($23 per ADS). Expedia is the largest online travel company and Renren is a leading social networking company in China.
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX), Fox, and Imagine Television has signed a deal to develop new episodes of Arrested Development. The new episodes will be available exclusively to Netflix subscribers in the first half of 2013. Fox and Imagine will be co-producing the episodes together. Netflix is covering a large portion of the production costs.
EXOPC has posted a video of the EXOdesk. The EXOdesk is an interactive desk platform that lets you do virtual tasks. The device is a tabletop computer similar to the Microsoft Surface and has 40 inches of high definition space. The virtual keyboard has an RSS feed stream, Twitter feed stream, and apps built into the surface. The EXOdesk costs $1,299 and will be available starting in 2012. [Mashable]

Over this past weekend, a lot of people have indicated how they do not like Facebook apps such as Spotify, WSJ Social, and Washington Post Social Reader sharing content without permission. Some people believe that automatically grabbing content that people are reading and listening to on the Internet is ruining sharing.
Wolfram Alpha has launched a new feature that allows you to find out if there are any airplanes directly above you. To do this, Wolfram Alpha uses your IP address to detect your location. The information about the flights are given too.
AOL, Inc. (NYSE:AOL) is having a hard time retaining some of their talent. Within the last couple of days, AOL saw Brad Garlinghouse and Sarah Lacy leave the company. Now former TechCrunch CEO Heather Harde is leaving the company. Harde became an executive at AOL after technology blog TechCrunch was acquired. It is believed that Harde was pissed when a Huffington Post CEO sent out an e-mail bashing TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington.
The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is intended to promote the prevention piracy and copyright infringement. However the Electronic Frontier Foundation believes that SOPA will allow the U.S. government and private corporations to create a blacklist of censored websites.
