The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has initiated an investigation on General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) due to fire risks. One of the Chevrolet Volt battery packs was being closely monitored after the government did a crash test and it caught on fire. Another recent crash test caused the battery to emit smoke and sparks.

The U.S. Justice Department (DOJ) and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have started a large new round of domain name seizures as part of a global crackdown on piracy. Although the seizures are disputable, these types of governmental actions would be legitimized by the SOPA bill. This initiative is called “Operation In Our Sites.”

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that Microsoft Lync will soon be available on iOS, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows Phone starting next month. Microsoft Lync is the company’s enterprise instant messaging client that used to be known as Microsoft Office Communicator. Google+, the social network created by Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG), launched on June 28, 2011 of this year as an invite-only service. The number of invites that was sent out for the service was extremely high and millions of people registered within a couple of weeks. Now Google has released a TV commercial promoting the social networking service and it aired during the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers game on Thanksgiving Day. I believe that this proves that Google+ is in it for the long haul and won’t suffer the same fate as one of Google’s many shut-down service. Check out the video above.

Delta has updated their iPhone application so that you can keep track of your bags. After you check your bags in, you just have to take a picture of your baggage tag. As you are traveling, you can check in to see where your bags have been delivered and received plane-side scans. Through the app, you can also pay for bags when you check in to your flight. This 40 Foot Christmas Tree Is Made From Legos

On the ground floor of the St. Pancras International station is a 40 foot Christmas tree. But this is no ordinary Christmas tree. It is made almost entirely out of Legos. There are a few steel branches to support the heavier Lego branches. There are 172 branches cover in over 1,000 Lego baubles. The whole tree took two months to make and it uses over 600,000 bricks.
