Microsoft Launches SkyDrive For iPhone and Windows Phone

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced that SkyDrive is now available for Windows Phone and the iPhone. SkyDrive is Microsoft’s cloud storage service.

When Windows Phone 7.5 was released, Microsoft was pushing for a deeper integration of SkyDrive in the phone through the Pictures and Office hubs. This means that Windows Phone users can share photos stored on SkyDrive by email, text, or IM. You can also use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with SkyDrive files. And your phone’s camera roll will keep SkyDrive photos up-to-date automatically.

You can also browse your entire SkyDrive, share any SkyDrive folder or file with one or more people, create new folders, and delete folders through the Windows Phone app. Below is a video demo of the new app:

Microsoft also launched a SkyDrive for iPhone app that has the ability to create folders, delete files, and the ability to share links to folders and files using the Mail app. Below is a video demo of the SkyDrive iPhone app:
