As much as I like Apple products, they also seem to be the preferred products to steal. Remember when the iPad first came out and a man lost his finger when someone tried to snatch his bag? Well apparently there is a mugger walking around Columbia University that is a hardcore Apple fanboy too.

NBC 4 is reporting:

Twice at 526 114th St., and once at 556 114th St., the suspects demanded the victims hand over their iPhones, police said.

The first victim complied, but the second only had a Droid, according to police. The thieves apparently didn’t want a Droid — so they took cash instead.

What the heck? If I was a criminal, then I would take the cash and the phone. Every unlocked smartphone has substantial monetary value on eBay for crying out loud.
